Ozone
is a powerful oxidizer and sanitizer. It is made
available for hot tubs and spas through the use
of a device called an Ozonator. Ozone is formed
when three atoms of oxygen are bound together,
instead of the normal two. Mother Nature makes
it naturally, if you have ever detected a faint,
sweet smell in the air after a lightening storm,
that was Ozone. Ozone not only destroys microorganisms,
it also breaks down harmful chemicals and causes
total dissolved solids to clump together for
easier removal by the filter. Ozone also oxidizes
combined chlorine and bromine, freeing them to
be continuously reused. The result is water that
is cleaner, clearer, and smoother feeling to
the skin.
Ozone helps prevent
the calcium in
spa water from chelating,
and thus
conditions the water. This is good for equipment and more enjoyable
to you. For many; the water actually feels softer! Ozone has a very
short half-life in water (about 15 minutes). You will still need to
use a system chemical such as bromine, chlorine as a sanitizer. However,
you will find that you will use a lot less chemicals-often 25 to 50%
less, and this alone will pay for your new ozonator in time. Plus you
spa experience will be heighten by less work, and less harsh chemicals
to burn you eyes, nose and skin. To be effective, you should run your
ozonator at least 4-6 hours per day. Continuous is best. 90% of new

The Spa EclipseTM is perfect for just about any spa and
using DEL’s patented CD Chip technology has many advantages. It
is energy efficient, which means lower operating costs, and because there
is no starter or ballast, the isolated circuitry of the Spa EclipseTM
eliminates voltage spikes. The Spa EclipseTM chip is also water resistant
and generates substantially less heat than UV systems.
The Spa EclipseTM has a viewing window which allows you to
see the CD energy field. Unlike UV Lamps that falsely indicate there
is still ozone, the CD Chip diminishes its glow when a replacement chip
is needed.

With more than 1.5 million CDS-16 generators factory installed by OEM
spa manufacturers in the past seven years, this workhorse
is now available through distribution. The CDS-16 is more compact than the
Spa EclipseTM,
making it the smallest spa ozone generator on the market
today. Although it is conveniently sized, it is still as robust and reliable
as the larger
Spa EclipseTM version.

The Platinum Spa Eclipse is DEL's newest high-output, high-concentration
Corona Discharge ozone generator for residential spas. The higher concentration
capability of the Platinum allows for higher mass transfer of ozone into
your spa water. This means that more ozone is coming into contact with
your spa's water, therefore, killing more organic materials such as bacteria,
viruses, molds, spores, cysts and other oils from people. Ozone even
destroys bather load (skin, oils, perspiration, etc.) and other organics
from bathers which keeps the scum line from ever appearing in your spa.
This high output generator provides even more sanitation for larger spas,
swim spas, or spas with a high bather load. The Platinum utilizes DEL’s
fully electronic start, along with a high output CD electrode. Our unique
technology uses 1/4 the energy of UV lamps.
The Platinum Spa Eclipse is considerably more energy efficient
than comparatively priced UV ozone generators. In fact, Corona Discharge
cell technology uses 1/4 the amount of energy compared to UV bulbs.

Corona Discharge ozone generators produce far more ozone than comparably
sized UV ozone generators. The DELZONE ECLIPSE line of CD ozone generators
produce up to 5 times the concentration of ozone produced by a UV generator.
These Eclipse units produce ozone concentrations reaching 1,350 ppm,
while UV generators typically top at about 550 ppm.
The DELZONE Eclipse 1-4 units are for in-ground pools with
water capacities up to 7,000 gallons (Eclipse-1) 15,000 gallons (Eclipse-2)
and 25,000 gallons (Eclipse-4). These units install easily into new or
existing pools.

DEL Ozone is now offering a product called the DELZONE
Total Eclipse 4 for residential pools up to 50,000 gallons! This new
product doubles the ozone output and capacity of our Total Eclipse 2
ozone generator.
The Total Eclipse Two and Four have a built-in recirculation
pump and injector assembly to recirculate pool water and inject ozone
24 hours a day (independent of your pools main pump). The ozone generator
can be plumbed off of the main circulation pipe after the filter and
before the heater with a dedicated return pool line back to the pool.
It can also be directly plumbed into return lines in new or existing
pool applications.
The DELZONE Total Eclipse series of ozone generators are fully-automated
, meaning there are no chemicals, salts, or consumables to add.
